Suomipesis Oy manufactures, develops, imports, and sells a wide range of pesäpallo products and equipment. Our products are officially approved match equipment by the Finnish Pesäpallo Association. We also manufacture and sell officially approved bandy rink balls (kaukalopallo) sanctioned by the Finnish Rink Bandy Association.

We have decades of experience in developing these products. We have worked in close cooperation with the governing bodies of the sports — the Finnish Pesäpallo Association and the Finnish Rink Bandy Association — as well as with the University of Jyväskylä (KIHU) to ensure top-class performance equipment for both competitive athletes and recreational players.

History

Suomipesis Oy was founded in 2013 to continue the pesäpallo equipment production of its predecessor, Lakaveka Oy. The company’s history dates back to 1989, when the Lakaveka pesäpallo factory was established. Production has now been active for over 35 years.

In 2013, following a company acquisition, the business was renamed Suomipesis Oy. The new owners set a clear goal to grow Suomipesis into a significant equipment manufacturer and began expanding production and development beyond official match balls to include other pesäpallo equipment.

By the 2020s, Suomipesis had significantly developed and expanded its operations. In addition to official pesäpallo balls, the company now manufactures gloves, bats, and a wide range of other pesäpallo equipment. After several years of product development, Suomipesis began manufacturing a new generation of Finnish-made pesäpallo bats — Kupperi and Suomari — in autumn 2019. These products are now available on the market.
